Faith Church: Our Statement of Faith

Baptism in water is a holy act that is ordered by the Word of God. In the baptism the whole body of the baptized person is immersed in the water. This is a deed of obedience and faith in which the believer identifies with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The precondition of baptism is repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

The precondition of baptism is repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

The result of baptism in water is that all sins are wiped away, the old self is crucified, reborn for the new resurrected life, circumcision of the heart, and entering the Body of Christ, the Church. In the Bible you can find several formulas for baptism, all these are of the same value.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Rebirth is due to the work of the Holy Spirit, but not the same as baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is the second spiritual experience after repentance.

One of the most important parts of Jesus Christ's high priest ministry is that He baptizes the believers in the Holy Spirit. Through this the believer shares from the power of God, that enables him to fulfill the obligations of a disciple (preaching the gospel, giving testimonies, healing the sick, praying for delivery from demons, etc.).

Most often, speaking in tongues is the sign of baptism in the Holy Spirit. This is a supernatural sign: the Holy Spirit is talking through the believer.

The precondition of being baptized in the Holy Spirit is repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
